SPRINGFIELD — Khaliel Spearman scored a team-high 19 points, and Jai Jencks turned in a double-double inside to lead Rutherford past its county rival.
Jencks finished with 13 points and 16 rebounds going up against Bay’s potent interior tandem of Tommy Wade and Corey Brown.
“I thought Jai did a great job competing against Bay’s front line,” Rams coach Rhondie Ross said, noting his team won the county championship for a fifth consecutive season and also clinched the District 1-5A tournament’s No. 1 seed.
Kiki Williamson added 14 points for Rutherford, which led 31-16 at halftime. The Rams (19-3, 7-1 district) host Wakulla today at 4:30 p.m.
Mosley 87, Crestview 85
LYNN HAVEN — Brandon Salazar’s two free throws with five seconds left in overtime sealed Mosley’s win in a District 2-6A matchup. Nat Dixon scored 33 points (six in overtime) to lead the Dolphins (6-15, 3-5). Josh Turner contributed with 17 points and 13 rebounds, and Kyle Corbin added 12 points. Mosley plays at Rutherford on Tuesday night. Mosley’s JV team lost 72-55 to Crestview, and the freshman squad lost 35-34.

PANAMA CITYBEACH — Arnold squandered a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter and came up short in the non-district game. Devon Stewart scored 14 points for the Marlins, and Darius Smedley had 11. Cameron Britton and Jordan Knowles each had nine. The Marlins led 42-35 going into the final quarter, and coach Robert Britton said his players led by 11 before North Florida Christian rallied. Arnold’s JV won 58-27.

SAND HILLS — Brandon Suttles fired in 19 points, and Bozeman clinched the third seed at its district tournament with the District 2-1A victory over the Tiger Sharks. Bozeman (14-7, 7-5) led 25-21 at halftime. The Bucks host Vernon on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

ALTHA — Art Platt and Kent Rogers scored 16 and 14 points, respectively, for Altha in a District 3-1A defeat. The Wildcats (8-14, 4-7 district) play at Poplar Springs on Monday at 7 p.m.

DOTHAN, Ala. — Trent Forrest scored 20 and Tyrome Sharpe 17 for Chipley, which hosts Cottondale on Tuesday.

PORT ST. JOE — Alexis Ware set Mosley’s single-season three-point shooting record during a 28-point performance in Mosley’s non-district rout.
Ware, who had five steals and six rebounds, knocked down a pair of 3-pointers to give her 65 this season. She set her team’s single-season scoring record a night earlier against Rutherford on Thursday night.
Kiana Yangson added 10 points, Hennessey Smith had eight points and 11 rebounds, and Hazel White grabbed eight rebounds for the Dolphins (20-5). Mosley plays Fort Walton Beach in the District 2-6A tournament next Friday at 5:30 p.m.

WEWAHITCHKA — Jessica Smith scored 32 and Katie Parker 12 for the Gators (6-14). Shelby Suggs scored 29 to pace Bozeman.
