ORLANDO — Booker T. Washington of Miami turned a closed game into a rout with 22 points in the third quarter to finish off Jacksonville Bolles 35-7 in the Class 4A championship game.
Treon Harris was 11 of 19 for 245 yards and two touchdowns and he led all rushers with 72 yards and three touchdowns in keying the blowout for Washington (13-1). Larry Krondis added 66 yards on nine carries and Washington rushed for 195.
Bolles (12-2) trailed 13-7 at halftime after a Colby Peters touchdown pass to Arterrious Mitchell midway through the second quarter. Washington capped the scoring with 22 unanswered points, with Harris rushing for two scores and passing for another while Washington added a safety.
Peters was 13 of 30 for 125 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Mitchell had six catches for 48 yards and also rushed for 25.
Lamar Hopkins led Washingtion with four receptions for 81 yards. Deotron Hopkins also scored for Washington on an 87-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter.
