BLOUNTSTOWN — Junior quarterback Hunter Jordan threw three touchdown passes as Blountstown won its fourth straight game with a 21-0 victory over Sneads in District 4-1A football on Friday night.
Jordan entered the game with 154 yards passing on the season for the Tigers, 4-1, 1-0, but eclipsed that in one game by completing six of seven attempts for 206 yards.
Two of his TD tosses were to Ryan Hathcox in the first quarter. Jordan and Hathcox teamed for a 31-yard touchdown with 7:53 remaining and again for 46 yards with 3:54 left.
Sneads, 2-3, 0-1, which lost its third straight, stiffened from that point and it was 14-0 at halftime. Jordan then found Roosevelt Martin from 39 yards with 4:40 remaining in the third quarter. Andrew Bennett’s third extra point ended the scoring.
Blountstown limited Sneads to 55 total yards, shutting down explosive tailback Tre Keys who had 0 yards on eight carries. Joe Boyd topped the Pirates with 42 yards on 13 attempts.
Javakiel Brigham carried 11 times for 60 yards for the Tigers, who were limited to 91 yards rushing. Jordan and his receivers more than made up for that output.
Brigham also led Blountstown with 10 tackles. Hathcox, Dewayne Larramore, Corin Peterson and Jonathan Leath all had six. For Sneads, John Michael Glover and Reggie Creel each had six stops.
Blountstown steps up in class next week at 4A Marianna. Sneads is at Baker.
