Marianna’s turnaround season in football was rewarded with two players being named to the Class 4A All-State Football Team that was released Thursday.
The Bulldogs improved from 5-5 in 2011 to 8-2 under first-year head coach Tim Coakley. The turnaround was represented by Ander Botkin being named to the second-team offense and Kyle Tanner selected on the second-team defense.
Botkin is a 6-foot-6, 280-pound senior who made the squad as an offensive lineman. Tanner is a 6-0, 195-pound junior who was tabbed at linebacker.
Marianna is the lone area school that competes in Class 4A football.
