LYNN HAVEN — Natalie Vogler is returning to her roots.

The former Mosley standout is headed back to her alma mater as the school’s new softball coach, it was announced on Monday. She succeeds Brian Wilke, who stepped aside in late May after seven seasons as head coach and nine overall with the Dolphins while also spending many years with the baseball team.

Vogler inherits one of the best programs in Bay County and the region. The Dolphins won their first district title last season and advanced to two straight regional finals. Wilke led Mosley to seven consecutive regional appearances.

Vogler, a 2004 Mosley graduate, previously was at Arnold, where she was the girls basketball coach in 2013-14 and served as interim volleyball coach. She also spent time at the school as an assistant basketball coach.

She played two seasons of softball at Gulf Coast before finishing her career at Armstrong Atlantic in Savannah, Ga. The Lady Commodores won a state title and finished as runners-up at the national tournament in her sophomore season in 2006. She also assisted while finishing her studies at Armstrong Atlantic.
