CRAWFORDVILLE — Alex Dyer had 36 assists, 16 service points, 11 digs, three aces and one kill to lead Arnold to a 25-17, 25-20, 22-25, 26-24 win over Wakulla in the Region 1-5A prep volleyball quarterfinals on Wednesday.
The Marlins improved to 20-7 overall and advanced to Tuesday’s semifinal and a fourth meeting at Gulf Breeze. Arnold has lost to the defending state runner-up three times and also couldn’t forge past the Dolphins last season.
“They are solid, they have great serving, great defense, just solid all the way around,” Arnold coach Karisa Wesley said. “But you never know. The girls weren’t happy with their performance in the (district) finals (against Gulf Breeze) and they know they can do better. We’ll start work on that” today.
Sarah Robertson had 21 kills, 17 digs, 11 points, three aces and one assist, Madi Wichterman 10 points, nine digs, seven kills and an ace, JoJo Booker six kills, three blocks and three digs, Sam Brooks 11 digs, four kills, four points and two blocks, Taylor Wilson eight digs, eight points and two aces and Maggie Tachman 11 digs for Arnold.
Tuesday’s semifinal begins at 7 p.m.
