Quarterback Amos Williams posted 225 total yards and a pair of touchdowns while sophomore tailback Azende Rey rushed for 86 yards and a score as Walton held serve at home to earn a 26-12 win over visiting Northview.

Walton improved to 5-3 on the season.

After Northview scored to take a 6-0 first quarter lead, the Braves dominated for the remainder of the game, building a 26-6 lead before a late Chiefs’ touchdown. Williams put the Braves on the board in the first quarter with a 9-ard touchdown run, and Rey helped push the lead to 14-6 after a nine-yard scoring run of his own.

In the third quarter, Williams connected with wide receiver Raheem Phillips on a 75-yard touchdown pass to give the Braves a 20-6 lead, effectively putting the game away.

Walton’s final touchdown came courtesy of the Braves’ defense, when Christian Adams intercepted a Northview pass in the end zone for a score. Walton’s defense forced five turnovers on the night.

Walton will travel to face East Gadsden in the District 1-4A finale for both teams on Friday.
