ST. PETERSBURG — It’s been a season of accolades at Eckerd College for former Rutherford basketball standout Darrien Mack.
Mack has been selected to participate in the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II All-Star Game on March 29 in Louisville, Ky. Mack, who also has been tabbed a first-team All-Sunshine Conference selection and a first-team All-South Region pick, averaged 18.4 points and 8.3 rebounds a game this season for Eckerd.
“It’s a great honor to be among one of the seniors selected with all the schools and players considered from around the country,” Mack said in a press release. “I’m very excited about the opportunity to play in it.”
Two student-athletes are selected from each of the eight regions in NCAA Division II, along with another four at-large nominations. The all-star game will be played on the day between the Division II national tournament’s quarterfinals and semifinals.
